First ICF training held in Romania

Motivation Romania Foundation (MRF), in close consultation with two experts from Swiss Paraplegic Research of Switzerland (SPF), held a two and a half day ICF training workshop in Bucharest, Romania from 26-28 March 2014. Seventeen persons with a background in health, disability and social services and education (of both children and adults) actively participated in the workshop as part of the joint MRF - SPF project "Look at Abilities, Forget Incapacity" – Implementation of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) in social inclusion services for Romanian wheelchair users." The training is the first of 10 training workshops that will be conducted throughout Romania that intend to reach 120 participants from various fields.

Further activities in the joint grant by the Swiss Government include, among others efforts, to implement the ICF and the WHO International Perspectives on Spinal Cord Injury (IPSCI) Report in Romania.
