ICF Workshop in Poland April 2015

The subject of functioning and the implementation of the ICF is increasingly gaining more attention in the Polish insurance market. In order to address the growing need to acquire knowledge in this area, specifically in medical and disability certification, the ICF Research Branch conducted a 2-day ICF Workshop from 24-25 April 2014 in Warsaw, Poland. Twenty-seven participants with a background in medicine including surgery, medical certification and vocational rehabilitation participated in this workshop organized by the Personal Claims Handling Dept. at PZU, a large insurance company in Poland, and supported by the Polish Society of Medical Certification and representatives of the Polish Insurance Association. This workshop is expected to be the first of planned efforts to enhance the work of medical certification specialists using the ICF.
